Dragon Gate’s Mercury Rising

WWE, TNA, WrestlingJust a reminder to fans of awesome independent action, Dragon Gate USA’s Open the Ultimate Gate show from Mercury Rising weekend will be available via traditional pay-per-view beginning today.  Dragon Gate USA makes its return to cable systems at what is described by the company as a very reasonable price, but you’ll have to check your local listings for more information.

As far as the card is concerned, the main event features YAMATO defending the Open the Freedom Gate Title against Akira Tozawa.  I cannot speak for the champion, but I can tell you that Tozawa is ridiculously entertaining.  Lucky for us, Tozawa pulls double duty on the show.  In addition to challenging YAMATO, you’ll get to see him take on recent WWE-signee Jon Moxley in a no disqualification match.  The Open the United Gate Tag Titles will also be on the line at the show when champions Masato Yoshino & PAC defend against the team of CIMA & Doi.  A “six-way freestyle” that promises to steal the show will host Ariki Cannon, Sami Callihan, Rich Swann, AR Fox, Sila Young, & Lince Dorado in competition.  Two ProRasslin.com favorites collide at Open the Ultimate Gate when Brodie Lee goes one-on-one with “The Kentucky Gentleman” Chuck Taylor, and Jimmy Rave will face Johnny Gargano in a special attraction match.

As always, I implore you to support indy wrestling.  Fans unfamiliar with Dragon Gate USA, believe me when I tell you that they have some awesome in-ring workers.  Expand your horizons and try something new.  Those of you who are already fans of the product probably didn’t need this post to tell you to order the supercard.  Go Tozawa.
