Woo Woo Woo, You Know It!

Let me preface this by saying that if you watch Superstars, this is a spoiler.  If you are one of the seven people who enjoy the internet-only show every week and don’t want to have it ruined for you, stop reading right now.  Go do whatever it is that people who watch Superstars do.  For the rest of you…

WWE, TNA, Wrestling

Two appearences in one week? You know it!

Zack Ryder’s popularity is a testament to the ever-evolving information age in which we live.  When he was on television every week, few people cared what the Long Island native was up to.  A hit YouTube show, overactive Twitter account, and ridiculous catch phrase later, and he’s a darling of the Internet Wrestling Community.  Signs supporting the viral superstar have overwhelmed Raw & Smackdown (and have been confiscated on occasion as a result), and there’s outcry whenever Ryder doesn’t appear on WWE programming, which is more often than not.  This week, though, the WWE seems to be throwing a bone to Zack Ryder’s IWC following.  After appearing backstage on Raw monday night fist pumping with John Cena, Ryder nabbed a victory over Vladimir Kozlov on the Superstars tapings this week.  Even more notable, he did so with the help of Curt Hawkins, who’s recently been drafted to Raw.  Is a reunion for the former Edgeheads brewing?  We can dream, can’t we?

On an unrelated Superstars note, Tyson Kidd was accompanied to the ring by Michael P.S. Hayes for his match with Trent Barreta.  The last time Hayes appeared regularly on WWE programming was as manager to the Hardy Boyz over a decade ago, so it’s certainly an interesting decision if he settles into the role of Kidd’s manager.

  1. Why his gimmick is not refined a little so we can take him more seriously and getting a real push is beyond me… The guy is gold. Fully agree that “the WWE is missing the boat with Zack Ryder in it”.

    • He’s gotten so popular! I’d love to see him pushed (if Robbie E can make it, so can Zack Ryder), but even if they don’t want to give him his due I’d even settle for a comedic role ala Santino.
