The WWE has been responsible for plenty of successful characters and storylines. Shawn Michaels’ boyhood dream, Stone Cold Steve Austin’s beer truck, and Chris Jericho’s Undisputed Title win spring to mind as obvious examples. Occasionally, though, the creative team lays a big, fat egg. Kane being stalked by and eventually wrestling against a masked version of himself files comfortably as one of the latter. The whole angle was confusing, bizarre, and ultimately without any semblance of reason. On a positive note, it did give Luke Gallows (who was the man behind the mask) his first shot on the main roster.
