Tonight’s Smackdown is being advertised as featuring Christian’s “return,” whatever that means. Seems to me he returned at the Elimination Chamber, returned to Smackdown at the end of last week’s show, and returned to in-ring competition on this Monday’s Raw. But whatever. I do know what he’ll be doing on the show, and it’s kind of a blockbuster. I’m not going to come right out and say how he’ll be involved because I consider it a mild spoiler since it’s announced during the show’s opening segment, but if you want to know Smackdown’s main event just highlight the space between the parentheses. (Christian will partner up with Edge to face Alberto Del Rio & Brodus Clay. Edge & Christian, people!)
The undercard will include four matches, and some of them don’t look too shabby. Kane will go one-on-one with Wade Barrett, which should surprise no one after Kane’s aggressiveneess towards the Corre last week. Kaitlin will make a rare Smackdown appearance when she meets Layla in the ring, and I wonder if this will be the week that LayCool finally break up. Recent standout superstar Cody Rhodes will be in action, wrestling JTG. Lastly, Drew McIntyre will look to redeem himself for his recent losses when he takes on Rey Mysterio. Smackdown will be punctuated by a pair of interviews, as John Cena and Triple H are both scheduled to address the WWE Universe in response to The Miz and The Undertaker respectively.
